1. Divisibility (Chap. 1.1-1.6) 2. Prime numbers (Chap. 2.1-2.6) 3. Numerical functions (Chap. 3.1-3.6) 4. Congruence classes (Chap. 4.1-4.5) 5. Congruences of higher degree (Chap. 5.1-5.5) 6. Primitive roots (Chap. 6.5) 7. Sums of squares (Chap. 7.2-7.3) The above syllabus is not carved in stone. We shall not cover every item in the above mentioned sections. Conversely we may touch the occasional item not to be found there. Students who miss lectures risk missing some material. |
