Welcome to the home page for MATA36H.

The Course text is Single Variable Calculus - Early Transcendentals, 6th Edition, James Stewart.

It is important that you are enrolled into a tutorial as you will have to produce then and there the weekly piece of work to be marked (your solution to a quiz, at the TA's discretion). If you are not enrolled in the tutorial, where you hand in that work, it cannot be guaranteed that the result will be credited to you!

Assignments will be posted on this web site every week. In the tutorial the students will be asked to write a short quiz.

My new office hours are as follows: Tuesdays 2:10-3:40 and Thursdays 3:10-4:20, both in IC446 (my office). (The former Wednesdays 1-3 office times are now deleted).

Missing the Midterm Test or Final Exam: If you are prohibited from writing the midterm test due to severe illness, reasons of creed, or personal catastrophe, then bring this to the instructor's attention at least 24 hours before the test. Upon the presentation of compelling, non-electronic documentation not later than three working days after the test, an alternate arrangement will be considered. If you miss the midterm test and do not provide documentation as above, then you will earn a score of zero for that test. Rules and procedures pertaining to missing the final exam are found in the back section of the current University of Toronto Scarborough Academic Calendar.

Calculators: Any calculator that is similar in computing power to the following models will be permitted. Calculators that store large amount of text are not permitted. If in doubt, ask your professor.
